Dear Trish and Joy - I just can’t say how terribly sorry I am to hear of Steve’s passing, he was such a good guy and SUCH an incredible talent. God will he be missed. For a little over 10 years (ending in 2004) I wrote the weekly music column for the local daily paper here (Sarasota Herald Tribune/TICKET/Out Late column) and often told readers where they could hear Steve because he was one of those players that everyone admired and would turn out to enjoy. He had some tough times but did his best and I admired him all the more for his struggle. I’m going to post a link to this clip and the info on his memorial service this coming Sunday on my blog so that anyone in the music scene who wants to hear him one more time and turn out to pay respects can do so.
