Today Steven and Diana were invited to explore Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park with Grandma and Grandpa. It was their first time experiencing the wondrous powers of water and Nature, and they returned very excited about all that they saw. Here are a few pictures from their most memorable day.

Steven had a blast.

It was a teacher workday so Diana and Steven got to spend the day at the National Zoo with Grandma. They visited the elephant house at bath time! Diana took lots of photos with her camera and so I’ve added some of them to our photo gallery. Check it out!

Diana and Steven had fun with the Halloween festivities this evening. Both got enough sweets to keep our dentist in business til next year! Without further ado:

Cheetah the Third

We can’t figure out why, but this is the third year in a row that Steven has wanted to wear his cheetah costume. Luckily, it still (barely) fit! At first he thought he wanted to be a cheetah and a pirate, but at the last minute decided that he didn’t want his cheetah to dress up as someone else.

They had a blast, and will be eating candy for months to come. Eeep!

On this day, Diana and Steven were lucky enough to be invited to Grandpa’s annual company picnic. There were games, pumpkins, horseback rides and even a rock climbing wall. We’ll upload a photo album to our gallery soon, so check back!

All week the children anxiously watched the weather reports, because finally, after 34 days of no rain, we had persistent showers. At first the weather man was hopeful that Saturday would be clear and dry, and then the situation became iffy as the week progressed. When they left for the picnic on Saturday morning, the skies opened up and it POURED. Luckily, it was just a small rain cell and the weather was bright and sunny at the picnic.

It was a truly great day!

Today we celebrated Grandma’s birthday by enjoying an early dinner at Olive Garden. It was a beautiful fall day and the food and company were wonderful. We were so happy to be part of Grandma’s special day!

Yesterday Diana got to play goalie for her school soccer team. I think this was a first for her. Despite many saves, her team was not victorious, but it was a great game. Go, Diana! Yay!

This is Steven, “strimmin” his new guitar! He’s still little enough that sometimes he says funny things.

So today is the first day of the new Day Website. It’ll be a while before the site does everything I want it to, but I think this format will be easier to update. Check back often for regular updates!
